About The Artist

Rachel Maughan is an artist from Washington, currently working on an Art BFA at Brigham Young University in Utah. Born and raised on a cattle ranch, Maughan's work focuses on agricultural stories of man and animal, stuck in the dirt of the past. The purpose of documenting stories of dying agriculture is to show a society that has become separate from the realities of owning land, livestock, and being a steward to creations that have been given to us. Labor on a full-size ranch is time consuming, chaotic, and claustrophobic. Her paintings are equivalent.
